April next week

Under 3 weeks to go now, almost within reach! Have been checking out the daily news pretty much daily, along with the weather in Madrid! The weather's not been too reliable the last week or two :-/ Hope it settles down again soon.

With my college app i've now made simulated gravity so objects can fall down the screen (bit ironic considering the subject of this blog :P).

April next week, THEN it'll be close :)

College work

It's currently just over 21 days til I go, but the date now has another deadline set on it - my college work. I've been given an assignment to do which has to be in on the 19th of April (day before I return to England), so basically I have to get it done before I go. Soooo I'm trying to get it out of the way as early as possible (with my level of laziness considered ;) ), so then I can look forward to skydiving :)

My assignment is basically to make a 2D Java application which has interaction, so i'm making a seaside game with a sealion keeping a beach ball in the air (hardly realistic, but I hardly care ;) ). There should be some (initial at the mo) version of it online at http://www.raceundefined.co.uk/collegeapp/

That's how, for now!

4 weeks today...

...and i'll be leaving :) Yes I realise that there is a milestone for pretty much any day going up to an event if you want there to be :P The weather's looked pretty good in Madrid but some clouds and showers predicted in the near future, boooooo!

Forgot to note before that my car parking (near Gatwick) and holiday insurance (under £20 including 'crazy sports activities' cover, bargain!)are both sorted now too.

Haven't changed the colours in at least a few days now...maybe I'm finally happy with them :O

1 month to go

Well today is the 13th of March so it's 1 month to the day until my trip begins! I've just seen on the FFU daily news that they can now accept credit cards (instead of cash) for payment of jumps, which is good news :) Involves less hassle for paying for the jumps in advance! Though it could also be a bad thing if I get carried away buying lots more jumps on my card ;)

Base jumping

Oh and in addition to the previous post, I don't think I'll be stretching to BASE jumping...I mean it looks exciting, but then I spose playing chicken with cars in the road could seem exciting in a similar way ;)

Formation Skydiving and birdman

I've been thinking how I would probably like to do the Formation Skydiving (FS) course (basically being allowed to jump in groups) in the future after doing the AFF course. Ideally i'd like to become a birdman (where your arms are joined to your sides by fabric, and your legs the same to each other), but I think that would cost quite a lot of money with all the jumps needed prior to doing the course! Aah well, we'll see :)

New images

Just been working on some new images I've created to go at the top of this page, am happy with them now :) I'd rather use my own custom images than the ones that came with the theme that i'm now using!

37 Days

37 Days to go now (yeah, i'm counting - well, my computer is anyway).

Went and bought some tracksuit bottoms the other day to do the jumps in (have had my other ones for ages so thought I needed a new pair :P). Tried several pairs on, found it weird that they kinda oversize them - I almost got too fed up with it and didn't bother buying any, with the sizes being a bit random, and there being loads of people buying the new England Away football shirt! Shopping online is so much easier ;)

Have added links over to the right hand side:
  • The Freefall University (FFU) - This is the company who I will be doing my AFF (Accelerated Freefall) course with, who couldn't have been more helpful during the booking/arranging process.

  • FFU Daily news - This is a direct link to the Daily news on the FFU site, which is currently for March (as it is currently March, cunning!) but hopefully i'll remember to change it to April at the time. Then you should be able to see progress from my course while i'm out there!

  • Madrid Weather - Do I need to explain this? :P Good weather = good news for jumping!

Stu out!

Changed theme

Wasn't liking the colour scheme so I've chosen my own colours instead. Gone for a sky and sunset kinda theme!

Just had an idea

Just had an idea, that I could create a blog to update each day when i'm out in Spain - if I could get access to the Internet, which I've now been told by David (of the FFU) that I will be able to :)

So here it is :)
